  4.        Reality Check Inc Announces Release of ZedREXX 1.0 for Amiga
  5.              ZedREXX Provides Powerful GUI Extensions to REXX

  7.   (NASHVILLE, TN) Reality Check Inc today announced the release of
  8. ZedREXX 1.0 for Amiga, a REXX Language Extension that adds sophisticated
  9. Graphical User Interface (GUI) capabilities using an easy-to-use yet
  10. extremely powerful syntax.

  12.   ZedREXX provides users with the ability to build a GUI into any of their
  13. REXX scripts.
  14.  
  15.   Unlike the complex and cryptic syntax that are common to other REXX GUI
  16. systems, ZedREXX syntax is structured, simple and easy to read.  Common
  17. GUI techniques are implemented in the command host instead of in the REXX
  18. script, making the run-time speed and response time of a ZedREXX script
  19. similar to the same application written in C.

  27.   * Single-window or multiple-window interfaces.

  33.   * Font and text sensitive layout of all GUI elements.

  35.   * Support for context-sensitive on-line help.

  37.   * Drag and Drop support.

  39.   * Iconification.

  41.   * Access to common dialog boxes, such as File and Font.

  43.   * Non-modal or modal windows.

  45.   * Transparent handling of all event processing.

  47.   * Resource tracking.

  49.   * Support for object observers and multiple targets.

  51.   * Persistent object and attribute support.

  53.   ZedREXX has been in beta testing for more than nine months, and has
  54. already gained quite a following among its testers.  Willy Langeveld,
  55. author of rexxarplib.library, at SLAC, said "Finally, I can toss away
  56. rexxarplib.library!"

  58.   ZedREXX provides an AmigaGuide on-line reference and utilizes the
  59. Commodore Installer to ease the installation process.  Minimum system
  60. requirements are an Amiga running 2.04 or beyond of the Amiga Operating
  61. System.
